Kim Delaney was an American actress. The actress is best known for her role as Detective Diane Russell, in the ABC drama series NYPD Blue. For this she was awarded the Emmy Award. Her roles comprise All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. As the sole daughter to a senior executive of the United Auto Workers and a household worker, Delaney had a family of four brothers. In her early years she was aspired to become a court reporter. However, after graduating from high school and moving to New York in the 1980s, she began modeling. Her first role as an actor was as an innocent teenager in the soap opera All My Children. The career of Delaney has been filled with numerous television films and dramas. Personally, her professional life hasn't had a happy and successful. There were two divorces that failed and fought with addiction issues. In 2005, she lost custody over her only son.
